Adolescent Psychotherapy

Adolescent psychotherapy can be similar to adult therapy. Adolescents may feel comfortable talking about their problems. This is something that can be really important, and at C&A Psychotherapy we aim to provide a safe, non-judgemental and empathic environment where teens aged 13-18 can share what is on their minds

What is Adolescent  Psychotherapy?

and how does it work?

Whilst some teens find it easy to talk, sometimes it is easier for adolescents to express themselves through play or other creative means. Sometimes adolescents may have missed out on key childhood experiences and therapy is a great way to gain these experiences to make sure adolescents develop fully and successfully.

As with younger children it can be really important to involve others in the adolescent’s therapy. This may be in the form of working with families to create safe environments at home, working with carers to begin to create secure spaces for teens in care, working with schools to ensure the teenager can access the help and support they need in their education, or working with social services to provide targeted support for the teenager.

If you are a teenager aged 16+ you can refer yourself to C&A Psychotherapy. During the initial assessment we will talk about who needs to know you are coming to therapy and confidentiality of the sessions.
